Before and After

I thought I would do a post on what is involved in editing your wedding photos and in the process will hopefully explain why wedding photography or any photography for that matter costs what it does. Dont get me wrong, I completely love my job and I am so grateful when couples choose me to shoot their day, but believe me there is so much more that goes into it rather than spending the day with you shooting.

Apart from the numerous meetings, whether it be to go over schedules of the day or going over the grounds for the day, choosing great spots for photos, guiding couples when the light is right for photos, travel, organising run sheets, making sure all equipment is clean and has been maintained, backing up, backing up and backing up some more, formatting cards, calling and replying to emails (even after hours) and then there is the editing of over a thousand photos from each and every single wedding and most important of all??   Creating lasting memories that you can show your grandkids.

I wanted to try and explain that it isn’t just a matter of shooting the day and that’s it, its the countless hours of editing after the fact.  Here are a few examples of before and after photos.
