New testimony from Chris and Steven!

New testimony from Chris and Steven!

We found out about Lisa through word of mouth, and from the moment we got in touch with her we knew we’d found the wedding photographer for us. Lisa was incredibly helpful throughout, and was quick to get back to us with answers to any questions we had. She is also a lot of fun to work with – something really important to us!

Not even cold and wet weather could spoil the day – Lisa knew how to make the most of the venue and the conditions to produce some really stunning photos. We are both very grateful to have had someone as amazing as Lisa to help capture the memories of our special day.

Fernbank Farm wedding – Cam and Joe are married!

Fernbank Farm wedding – Cam and Joe are married!

A few weeks back I photographed the wedding of Cam and Joe at the stunning Fernbank Farm on the NSW Central Coast. I dont even know how to begin to explain this amazingly beautiful wedding but I will give it a shot. (pardon the pun) Cam and Joe with their bridal parties started their preparation for the big day at Fernbank Farm. When I arrived I was greeted with the biggest smiles and lots of warmth as everyone got ready for their day. Ceremony was held on site under some beautiful trees. After ceremony everyone mingled for a few hours before heading down to a long lunch with seating for 140. Lunch was held in the arbour at Fernbank which is just completely gorgeous.  There was lots of delicious food, french jazz and just such a amazing vibe happening. Speeches were held here too. After a very long lunch, everyone headed up to the marquee for cocktails before heading into the other marquee where the party truly started with some fab dance moves. I cant thank you guys enough for having me. It was truly a magical day.

Blue Mountains wedding photography – Steven and Chris are married!

How did you meet each other? – We met at a church in Petersham, Sydney. We hit it off at a church social dinner at a daggy Italian restaurant after the church service, and a couple of days later Steven, uncharacteristically, asked me out.

Describe your ideal wedding day –  Steven: A relaxed ceremony and a fun evening with family and friends. –  Chris: Most of all, a fun celebration of our relationship with the people who would like to do that with us! But also, to have something extra special about it that makes the day particularly memorable.

Who did you choose to marry you? Rev Karl

Why are you marrying each other? – Steven: Chris, because he’s smart and caring and better than me at Scrabble.  – Chris: The person I chose is, most of all, incredibly thoughtful, always striving to be the best he can be. Living life with him is just so much fun, and he’s also a cutie!

Tell me about your venue? What was the deciding factor?  Blue Mountains Botanic Garden at Mount Tomah. It’s a beautiful location surrounded by nature, that’s close enough for our friends and family to attend.

Why did you end up choosing Lisa Lent to shoot your day? – Definitely the on-point memes. We had also heard wonderful things about Lisa’s work by word of mouth, and loved what we saw on her website!

Which company is doing your hair and make up? – A bowl and a pair of kitchen scissors!

Are you having a DJ or live band? Who did you choose? – Our guests will be providing the entertainment! We’ve hired a karaoke machine so that everyone at the reception can unleash their inner Beyonce.

Where did you get your wedding day clothing from ?  -MJ Bale

Who is doing your florals and your decorations?  – Our wedding will be held in the beautiful Botanic Garden itself, so we felt that no extra decoration was required. 🙂

Name 2 things you want your guests to remember about your wedding  – Chris: I would love them to remember a fun time, to remember the karaoke performance that just went terribly and hilariously wrong, to remember how proud my little sister was to be doing a bible reading at the ceremony, to remember how dashing Steven looked in his suit. (Okay, maybe it’s alright for only me to remember that last one) –  And if they remember nothing at all, then that’s okay too. It means they were probably having an especially good time!

What is your first dance song?  – Single Ladies.  – ‘Cause if you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it.

Wagstaffe Hall – Tori and Karen are married!

Wagstaffe Hall – Tori and Karen are married!

How did you meet each other? –  A mutual friend introduced us in 2014, we talked for a few weeks on the phone before we met in person. I was in the ‘friend-zone’ for Karen, but I made it clear that it was a date for me. Our first date was fun, we hung out for 10 hours!

Describe your ideal wedding day –  We both like simple. We’ve planned our day to be our closest family & friend, about 70 people, relaxed Sunday lunch by the water in a local community hall.

Who did you choose to marry you, and why?  – We chose Melissa Duane to marry us, she’s been friend of Tori’s family for over ten years.

Tell me about your venue? What was the deciding factor?  – Wagstaff Hall was built in the 1950’s by members of the local community. We’ve both visited many times for a day drive, fishing off the pier and ice creams on hot days. It’s peaceful and beautiful. It’s suitable for all weather, so our Spring Sunday wedding will go ahead rain hail or shine.

Why did you end up choosing Lisa Lent to shoot your day?  – A work colleague recommended Lisa to Karen. We both looked at Lisa’s website gallery and really liked her composition and artistry. We met for a coffee and had a lovely chat, hired her on the spot!

Which company is doing your hair and make up?  – Karen’s chosen Taylor Beck – Make Up Artist for the bridal party hair and makeup.

Are you having a DJ or live band? Who did you choose?  – Karen’s been pulling together Spotify play lists for the day, we will have all our favourite songs at our fingertips!

Who is doing your florals and your decorations?  – Celebration Setups is our decorator, they will be creating the atmosphere. Karen has made some of the decorations and we will be heading to the flower markets on the Friday before the wedding.

Name 2 things you want your guests to remember about your wedding?  – Welcoming and relaxed environment – The food!

What is your first dance song? – My Lover – Melissa Etheridge

Somersby Gardens Estate wedding – Nicole and Luke

Somersby Gardens Estate wedding – Nicole and Luke

How did you meet each other?  Luke and I met through a mutual friend when were teenagers. After our first initial meeting, we continued to see each other at various gatherings where we actually ‘liked’ other people but we’re friends. After a while, where we kept seeing each other and chatting, Luke eventually asked me out and well the rest is history.

Describe your ideal wedding day – For our day to run smoothly; and for Luke and I to be able to take it all in, and enjoy ourselves and be able to spend time with our guests.

Who did you choose to marry you, and why? We chose Kerryn (Kez) from Wed by Kez. We initially found Kez through you and your recommendations! We ended up picking Kez because we got along with her so well; we actually have quite similar interests so Luke and I felt so at ease when talking with her.

Tell me about your venue? What was the deciding factor? –  Luke and I looked at so many venues across Sydney, the north and south coasts and even throughout the Hunter Valley, but just none of them made us both feel happy or relevant to who we are as people. We were always pretty set on having a venue that had both the ceremony and reception on the same property, that had a nice outdoor area. We stumble across Somersby Gardens Estate on Google and decided to check it out, when walking around Luke and I just fell in love with the property. It’s so pretty; and is surrounded by the bush that resonates with us both. We both felt so ‘at home’ and comfortable at Somersby so we just knew then there, this was the venue.

Why did you end up choosing Lisa Lent to shoot your day? – We picked you (like many of suppliers) because we just got along, you were so helpful and friendly from the start and through the whole last 18 months. You made Luke and I feel like we could trust and rely on you. Also I was just super impressed by how quickly you got back to my original enquiry it was crazy like 15 minutes! You really made a first impression that day 🙂

Which company is doing your hair and make up? –  Karen Dyer Make Up & Hair, and Cassandra Herrick Hair Artistry

Are you having a DJ or live band? Who did you choose? – A DJ – Magoos Party Hire

Where did you get your wedding day clothing from ? – Brides Dress – Brides of Sydney Brides Shoes – Steve Madden Bridesmaid Dresses – Oleg Cassini Bridesmaid Shoes – Billini Groom & Groomsen Outfits – YD

Who is doing your florals and your decorations? – Bec from Kurtzy Flowers is doing our flowers and most of our decorations. We are also DYIng parts of the centrepieces, we’ve purchased lanterns and my (Nicole’s) mum has made our candles 🙂

Name 2 things you want your guests to remember about your wedding –  We want our guests to remember how much they enjoy/ed themselves. We also want them to remember the scenery/theme and food (all of which tie into each other)

What is your first dance song? – Perfect – Ed Sheeran
