Jess and Grant – Fernbank Farm wedding
How did you meet each other? – we have known each other since late teens since we both grew up in the same area. We started running into each other socially through mutual friends about4 years ago when I realised I liked Grant more than a friend I had to work out how to get him to take me on a date so I started texting him about an upcoming trip to the USA I had plans with some gfs. I gave all the hints of wanting to go out on a date but it took a while for him to ask. Once he finally did, we had dinner and a walk around vivid.
Describe your ideal wedding day – It wouldnt matter where as long as Grant, Lucy and our families are there to witness and help celebrate. We did pick Fernbank Farm which is pretty beautiful and romantic so that will definitely help the feel of the day lol.
Who did you choose to marry you, and why?– Steph Hawes is our celebrant, we found her on the internet and once we had met her via zoom we knew we had picked a great person. She seemed very clam yet excitable but also knew exactly what needed to be done and when by which was a massive help.
Tell me about your venue? What was the deciding factor? – Fernbank Farm is a beautiful property that has a gorgeous industrial arbour, usually covered in wisteria however its just the vines at the moment being winter. The property is the perfect mix of country and city that surrounds a gorgeous lake. We opted for one long table that spans the side of the lake for our reception and will utilise the two marquees, one being set up as a lounge/cocktail area and the other for the dance floor.
Why did you end up choosing Lisa Lent to shoot your day? Lisa was recommended by Fernbank Farm staff to start with but once I made contact and spoke to Lisa I found her to be very welcoming, helpful and professional. She helped us immensely with postponing through covid and has continued to help with everything this year. Her photographs are lovely and I love the way she captures the beauty of both wedding and the venues.
Which company is doing your hair and make up? – my sisters best friend is doing our hair and Alex Walsh is doing the makeup.
Are you having a DJ or live band? Who did you choose? – DJ and we picks Soho Djs upon recommendations again.
Where did you get your wedding day clothing from ? – Wedding Dress from Rain Bridalwear in Sydney, Boys suits from Polotix, Bridesmaids dresses are from David Jones.
Who is doing your florals and your decorations? – Jess from Mimosa Florals
Name 2 things you want your guests to remember about your wedding – the dancing and how beautiful the ceremony was – apart from how fun the whole day will be!!!!
