Considering the Hunter Valley for your wedding day?
The Hunter Valley is a beautiful and romantic destination that offers several compelling reasons to get married there. Here are some of the top reasons to consider:
- Scenic Beauty: The Hunter Valley is renowned for its picturesque landscape, with rolling hills, lush vineyards, and breathtaking scenery. It makes for a stunning backdrop for a wedding, whether you choose to hold it outdoors or indoors.
- Wine Country Charm: The Hunter Valley is one of Australia’s premier wine regions, and the area is home to some of the country’s best vineyards and wineries. This means that you can treat your guests to a wine-tasting tour or a vineyard visit as part of your wedding festivities, which will add a unique touch to your celebration.
- World-class Venues: The Hunter Valley has an array of beautiful wedding venues, from historic estates to boutique hotels and vineyard estates. Whether you’re looking for an intimate ceremony or a grand celebration, you’re sure to find the perfect venue to suit your style and preferences.

This means that you can indulge in delicious food and drink as part of your wedding celebrations, whether you choose to have a formal sit-down dinner or a more relaxed cocktail-style reception.
- Plenty of Activities: In addition to wine-tasting and food, the Hunter Valley also offers a range of other activities for you and your guests to enjoy, such as hot-air balloon rides, golfing, hiking, and cycling. This means that you can turn your wedding into a fun-filled weekend away for everyone involved.
Why I love April through to September in the Hunter.
I personally love shooting autumn, winter and spring weddings in the Hunter Valley for so many reasons but here are just a few:
- Beautiful Scenery: The cooler weather offers a spectacular display of nature’s beauty, with trees and foliage changing colours, providing a picturesque backdrop for your wedding photos.
- Comfortable Weather: The weather during autumn, winter and spring is often mild, making it comfortable for you and your guests to enjoy outdoor activities such as an outdoor ceremony or reception.
- Availability of Venues: It is considered the off-season for weddings, which means that venues may be more available and less expensive than during peak wedding season.
- Cozy Atmosphere: As the weather gets cooler, it provides an opportunity to create a cozy and intimate atmosphere for your guests, with warm lighting, candles, firepits and blankets.
- The light!: Golden hour, also known as magic hour, is the time just after sunrise or just before sunset when the sun is low on the horizon and the light is soft, warm, and golden. My most favourite time to shoot!
