How did you meet each other? We have been together since we were 16 (13 years now!), back in the days when the way you talked to each other was on MSN and MySpace! It’s hard to remember now when we actually met, but the first real memory we have of meeting is the time Dennis tagged along with a friend to a surprise party that was thrown for Lauren. We started talking from there and the rest is history!
Describe your ideal wedding day – The sun is shining and the people are smiling! We just want our wedding day to be easy, fun and relaxed with everyone having a good time. A few laughs along the way too!
Who did you choose to marry you, and why? – Sarah Tolmie. She was the celebrant at Lauren’s brother’s wedding a few years ago and she did a really good job. We thought let’s meet with Sarah and have a chat and see how we go. She is such a lovely person who gets so excited about being involved in your special day. Once we had met with Sarah, we knew we didn’t need to consider anyone else to marry us.
Tell me about your venue? What was the deciding factor? Pullman Magenta Shores. We knew we wanted somewhere on the Central Coast and somewhere convenient for the majority of our guests to get to. We wanted the ceremony and reception space in the same location too.
We were interested in a cocktail style reception and Magenta offered this for a reasonable package. It was the only venue we went and looked and knew it would be great so we locked it in.
Why did you end up choosing Lisa Lent to shoot your day? – Lisa reached out to Lauren after Lauren’s sister in law (also Lauren!) commented on some of Lisa’s previous photos taken at Magenta Shores on Facebook. Right from the start Lisa was really friendly and helpful and her photos were beautiful. Lauren had heard good things about Lisa and she asked a couple of her friends who had Lisa shoot their weddings in the past and they had nothing but great things to say about her so the decision was made and we locked her in! There was no need to consider anyone else.
Which company is doing your hair and make up? – Nicole, the owner of Final Touch Bridal, a wedding dress store in Somersby, is doing the hair and makeup. Nicole no longer takes bookings for hair and makeup as she is focusing on her increasingly busy store. Lauren managed to lock Nicole in for the day before stopped taking bookings for her hair and makeup business.
Are you having a DJ or live band? Who did you choose? – We are having a DJ from DJ Magoos. We were originally not going to have a DJ but then Lauren met with them at a wedding expo and knew that they would make the day even better!
Where did you get your wedding day clothing from? – Lauren’s dress is from Shazzam Bridal and Formal at Toronto – it was the only store she went to and the first dress she tried on! The Bridemaid’s dresses are from The Bridal Outlet as Somersby. Dennis’ and the Groomsmen’s suits are from Tarocash.
Who is doing your florals and your decorations? – GG Events are doing both the florals and the decorations.
Name 2 things you want your guests to remember about your wedding – Hopefully good times on the dancefloor! The relaxed atmosphere of the cocktail style making it easy for everyone to talk to each other.
What is your first dance song? – Perfect – Ed Sheeran
We are absolutely in awe of your amazing work Lisa. I knew way before we met that you would be the photographer I wanted for our wedding.
When we finally got to meet you and your beautiful personality we knew we chose the perfect person. You are so helpful and very responsive and you just made everything so easy.
You went above and beyond for us. Lisa, Kim and I cannot thank you enough for everything, you are so incredibly lovely, fun and chilled and you just made things happen.
How did you meet each other? We met through a mutual friends engagment party in the Katherine (NT) It was a dress up party, I went as Pocahontas and Kim went as a cowboy with a inflatable steed and the rest is history.
Describe your ideal wedding day: To be surrounded by big beautiful trees with our favourite people whilst eating, drinking and dancing the night away.
Who did you choose to marry you, and why? Our celebrant Glenda is a very good family friend of Kim’s. We are absolutely honored that such a dear friend of the Sherman family will marry us.
Tell me about your venue? What was the deciding factor? Huge trees, green rolling hills, a beautiful old homestead, it is perfection
Why did you end up choosing Lisa Lent to shoot your day? I have been following Lisa for years, her candid photos and the ability to capture moments (that arent staged) are second to none. Her loving nature and sense of humor put us completely at ease. I think your photos make the people viewing them feel like they were there.

How did you meet each other? At high school. Danielle was in year 8, Mitch was in year 9.
Describe your ideal wedding day – Relaxed vibe, lots of bubbles and yummy food, lots of laughing and heaps of dancing
Who did you choose to marry you, and why? -Lauren Teys – A friend of mine told me about her so I looked her up on Instagram, loved what I saw, eventually saw her in action at that friend’s wedding and knew straight away that I wanted her.
Tell me about your venue? What was the deciding factor? – Bellbird Gardens, Terrigal. It’s a beautiful garden estate, close to home, surrounded by lots of native flowers which was a deciding factor for us. Plus, Mitch, the owner, is a legend.
Why did you end up choosing Lisa Lent to shoot your day? – I had heard of Lisa from friends who have used her at their weddings and after doing some ‘googling’. I had heard great things and seen her beautiful photos. As soon as I inquired, Lisa was so quick and friendly to reply. When I finally met Lisa, I felt as though I had known her my whole life.

Yesterday on a gorgeous autumn afternoon Karlie and Anthony were married. What a gorgeous day it was too, surrounded by loved ones, a gorgeous lake, the most beautiful child, tons of autumn light, and a rocking dance floor. I started yesterday at ceremony and shot through till a bit after the first dance. It was so great to finally meet you guys and to see some very familiar faces. After a beautiful ceremony by Lisa from Love, Share, Declare we took some quick photos around the grounds of Rafferty’s Resort at Lake Macquarie before all heading into reception for some fun. Thank you SO much again for having me along!
